Good afternoon,

Welcome to the second half of the Autumn term! It was lovely to see the children back on Monday and to hear all about their half term break.

In English, the children have been working from the book ‘I Want My Hat Back’ by Jon Klassen. They have worked in pairs to ask and answer questions, they have written questions and they have described the character of the Bear. In Phonics, this week the children learnt the ‘ir,’ ‘ie,’ ‘ue’ and ‘u’ graphemes. They also learnt the tricky words ‘their,’ ‘people,’ ‘oh’ and ‘your’.

In Maths, they have continued to learn about addition, the vocabulary associated with addition and solved problems.

In Geography, the children used Google Earth to locate the UK, England, Potters Bar and our School. They were so excited to find familiar places on the map and loved seeing our School from an aerial view.

In RE, the children learnt about Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Light. Today, they created beautiful and colourful Rangoli patterns using crayons.

Next week
