 Good Evening,

What a fun week we have had! It all started on Tuesday with 'Odd Socks Day’. We discussed the reason we were all wearing odd socks and explored this year’s Anti-Bullying Week theme: Choose Respect. The children looked amazing in their spotty clothes today. Thank you for your kind donations towards Children in Need.

In English, the children predicted what would happen next in the story of ‘I want my hat back’. They also explored the prefix ‘un’ and how it changes the meaning of the word. Later in the week they used the joining words ‘and’, ‘so’, ‘but’, and ‘because’ to write more interesting sentences.

Next Week:

Maths- The children will continue to learn about subtraction and the associated vocabulary.

English- The children will plan and write a letter to the character of Rabbit

Art- We will create a picture in the style of L.S. Lowry.

PSHE-  For ‘Parliament Week’ the children will discuss ‘What is Democracy?’

Science-  The children identify and name a variety of everyday materials, including wood, plastic, glass, metal, water and rock.

Spellings for next Friday’s test are:

Group 1: open, post, most, no, so, me, she, we, be, being
