29th May 2020

Hello Year One,

I hope you are all enjoying this amazing weather! A great week for a half term break.
Please see the class page for next week's work. I hope you will enjoy the 'My Family' project. Please continue to email me your work. For those of you I won't be seeing next week, I am missing you and hope you continue to carry out all the hard work you have produced so far.
For those of you that will be returning to school next week, I am looking forward to seeing you. We will also be working on the 'My Family' project at school.
Please see the class lists below. The allocations were chosen to make it fair by ensuring we had girls in both groups, as you will see. For those of you in my group I will be with you in the mornings and Mrs Blatch and Mrs Noble will be with you in the afternoons. For those of you in Mrs Beadles group, Mrs Reuch and Mrs Watson will be with you in the afternoons. This way both groups have a member of Year One staff during each day.

Although I would love to see your work please don't bring anything just yet, as I need to establish what can and cannot come into school and find a place for the work to go in. This is due to the current situation and the fact that it will need to be left a while before I can access it.

Enjoy the remainder of the holiday. Take care and stay safe.

22nd May 2020

Hello Year One,

It was so lovely to see so many of you at the zoom meetings. I am so impressed by all the work you have been doing! The sun has been shining and I know you have been enjoying playing in paddling pools, going to the parks and having fun times with your families.
I will be seeing some of you in a week's time and I am looking forward to that. Those of  you that are not returning to school I will keep in contact with you and have set you the same work as for the children that are coming back.
I thought it may be nice for you to look at a few pics of us all.

16th May 2020

Hello Year One,

It was so good to see you all at the zoom meetings on Wednesday. I think the smaller groups are better as I was able to talk to you all and see your work clearly. There will be more meetings this coming Wednesday. I will email you the times later.
It is so exciting for me to see the fantastic work you have been doing, so don't forget to get something ready to share.
I have been making puppets for my grandchildren and sending them videos of puppet shows. I did try to send you one on my blog, but it wouldn't load, so I could get you one ready for our next meeting.
I know you are enjoying the topic work as you are interested in finding out about the different countries. Next week you will travel to The USA! If you research first and answer the questions you can use the information in the rest of the work I have set you.
Don't forget to keep up with mathseeds and reading eggs.
I am looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday. Check the times as they will not be the same as last week.

Until then stay safe and well.

8th May 2020

Good Morning Year One,

It was great to see you all yesterday at our zoom meeting. Moving forward we have decided to change our approach to the meetings. You will be sent an email inviting you to a zoom meeting with me on Wednesday mornings. From now on I will be inviting six children to each meeting. You will be given a time slot. The reason we are changing this is to ensure all of you get a chance to speak to your teacher and to show us anything you would like to share. At the last meeting there were some fabulous pictures and models being shown, but it was difficult to do them all justice as there were so many of you to see and talk to. I am sure you will benefit and enjoy having smaller groups from now on. Look out for your invitation and time slot.
I hope you are all well and happy. You may be celebrating VE day with your families today. The weather is perfect for a picnic outside.
You are all doing so well with the work I have been setting. I am seeing great progress in your written work. I had a congratulatory email from Mrs Nixon (who organises maths seeds and reading eggs) who explained that Year One are doing well with this. She said that most of you are accessing both regularly. Keep it up!
I love seeing your work and other projects you have carried out at home. You can email me any time and share these with me!
Until Wednesday enjoy the sunshine and time with your families.

1st May 2020

Hello Year One,

Please look at the last blog as I sent you a story to listen too. I hope you enjoy it! I know it is one of our favourites!
I hope you are all well and enjoying spending time with your families. I have been busy making puppet shows for my grandchildren. I will send you one next week. I have been walking Poppy, who is loving every minute of me being at home. She is getting a really long walk every day. I have seen some of you whilst walking Poppy and it has been great to hear how you are getting on with the work. If you have any questions about work please email me. Maybe you could write a little email to me too.
Thank you to those of you who have sent in pictures of the projects you have completed. You are all amazing! I am so impressed. The sailing boats are fantastic!
Until we speak again, take care and stay safe.
