Week ending 28th April 2023

 Hello Year One,

We have had a wonderful week. The trip to Willows Farm was a huge success as I am sure you heard from your children! They had so much fun and really did not want to leave!

They were taught how to milk a cow and they watched Daisy being milked using the machine. They were able to feed the animals which caused lots of laughs.

They loved watching the Peter Rabbit show and discovering Mr Todd's house.

Soft play, trampolining, bouncy castles, rope swings and sand activities were just a few of the activities covered in the afternoon!

The children have been learning how to measure volume and length this week. they used standard and non-standard measures to do so.

We have been planning for story writing this week and writing character descriptions.

The children planted beans on Wednesday and recorded the process. They had to explain how they will help their beans to grow. They will be recording the bean growth as a diary.

We have been looking at Holy Scriptures with a focus on The Holy Bible. The children were able to record the many purposes of The Bible.

In our PHSE lesson we spent some time exploring friendship and what it ,eans to be a good friend.
