Good Evening,

 

This week, the children found out their roles in the Christmas production which they were very excited about. I am so impressed with how well they have learnt their songs and dances. Today, the children looked fantastic in their own clothes! Thank you so much for all your generous donations for the Christmas Hampers.

 

In phonics this week the children have learnt the digraphs ew, ie, aw and the split digraph e_e. They have also learnt the tricky words mouse, house, water and want.

 

In Maths they have been learning about whole and part models, bar models and have been finding number bonds within 10.

 

Next Week:

Maths- The children will focus on addition. They will explore the vocabulary associated with addition and solve addition problems.

 

English- The children will continue with their non-fiction topic which focuses on Labels, Lists and Captions.

 

Art- We will be creating a picture in the style of L.S. Lowry.

 

RE- We will begin to learn about another festival of light as we listen to the story behind the celebration of Hannukah.

 

History- The children will be learning about the different parts of a castle.
