 Hello everyone,

Year 1 have been very busy in their learning this week, especially in Maths. The children have been exploring measurement by using cubes and balancing scales to compare a variety of classroom objects. They have been using the vocabulary heavier and lighter to describe what they observe. They also explored capacity and volume, learning to use terms such as full, empty, nearly full and nearly empty. There has been lots of practical, hands-on learning, which the children have really enjoyed.

In English, the children have been planning their own version of the story Stanley’s Stick. Their stories are based on a sock, and they have come up with many imaginative and interesting ideas for how their sock could be used. We are very excited to see their final stories!

Well done, Year 1!
