Friday 3 May 2019

Week beginning 6th May 2019

Hello Year One,

We have had such a great week! The children enjoyed the walk to the woods and were able to identify many wild flowers and trees. When we returned to the classroom they drew wild flowers and leaves and labelled them. Thank you to all the parents who came to help.

Our next trip is on 16th May at 10am, as we will be visiting Oakmere Park and Parkfield to identify cultivated plants.

We have continued with our traditional tales theme and this week we focused on 'The Three Little Pigs.' The children wrote character descriptions of the wolf.

We have been rehearsing for our assembly next Friday and the children are becoming familiar with the process and their lines.

Some children have specific clothes to wear for the assembly. If this is the case you will have been sent a note explaining the costume and style.
If you have not had a note your child can wear bright, happy, colourful clothes of their choice. Please could you send them in to school wearing their assembly clothes, bringing their uniforms with them to change into after the performance.
The house design project has been a huge success. Thank you all for the hard work you have put in to work with the children on this. They are so proud of their structures and they are all so different. The homes will be on display for the assembly next Friday. Please could you take the homes back with you after the assembly.
