Week ending 21st July 2023

 Hello Year One,

A huge thank you for all my thoughtful gifts. 

As you know I will be moving to Year Four in September and I have really enjoyed having your children.

They have been amazing and it has been wonderful to see them grow in so many different ways.

Week ending 14th July 2023

 Hello Year One,

We have had a busy but fun week. The children created a list of all the favourite things they have done in Year One and we are repeating each activity over the next few days. Today they asked for the song 'Windmill in Amsterdam' to be played while they each have a turn wearing the wooden clogs. 

This week we have been working with number. We have been working with number lines, finding one more and one less than a given number and comparing numbers to find the greater and lesser amount.

The children have written about all the activities they have enjoyed in Year One and their thoughts and feelings about moving to Year Two. We have been working on sentence structure.

For RE the children drew their image of God. They wrote about a God or Gods and explained where they believe he/she lives, what he/she does and their relationship with their image.

We travelled to North America for our geography lesson and the children focused on famous landmarks in The USA.

I know they had a wonderful time when they spent time in Year Two. They seem excited to move up to their new class. 

There are lots of activities planned for next week. I am aware that some of you will be going away before the end of term. Please let me know when it is your child's last day.

Week beginning 10th July 2023

 Hello All,

I am sorry there was no blog from me on Friday. I did post one but for some reason it did not upload so I am writing a few short notes as it is now Monday.

The children had a fabulous week last week. They loved the circus skills workshop.

The spellings will be given out today.

This week the children will be meeting with Mrs Beadle as it is 'meet the teacher' on Thursday morning.

Don't forget that you are invited to 'meet the teacher' at either 4.30 or 5.30 Thursday.

We have a busy week with lots of projects to complete.
