Good Evening Everyone,
Year 1 have had a very busy
first week back to school. In maths the children have been finding 1 more and 1
less with 20 and they have also been exploring and using number lines to 20. In
English the children have worked extremely hard, recounting the instructions
for ‘How To Wash A Woolly Mammoth.’ They also began planning their own set of
instructions for how to wash an animal of their choice. I was very impressed
with the children’s imaginative animal suggestions. Also, I thoroughly enjoyed reading all the
wonderful writing the children completed in their learning journals over the half
term holiday. I was so proud of the children’s amazing efforts and I can’t wait
to read about their fantastic ideas and experiences next week.
Next Week:
Maths- The children will be
estimating on a number line to 20, comparing and ordering numbers to 20.
English- The children will
continue with their non-fiction topic which focuses on Instructions. They will
be planning and writing a set of instructions for washing an animal of their
choice.

learning about being healthy.
