Next term- an insight into what the children will learning
Maths – Place value within 10, addition and subtraction within
10, 2D and 3D shapes
English – Narrative-stories with predictable phrasing
The children will be making predictions, and continue to learn about
how to construct a sentence. They will be writing a letter, creating
instructions and explaining the events that occurred in a story.
Phonics lessons will take place every day. Group reading will
be carried out three times a week and handwriting lessons will take place three
times a week
Science – Seasonal
changes and the weather
History– The children will be learning about Castles
R.E. – The children will be learning about Diwali, Hanukkah
and Christmas.
Art – We will be
learning about the artist Claude Monet and will look at a selection of his work
D&T- The children will make sliders to create a moving picture. They will also be making Christmas cards with a lever mechanism
PSHE – Celebrating differences
ICT – Using technology and using the internet
Spellings
Next term, the children will be given a set of spellings every
Friday.
