Hello Year One,
I have missed you all this week. It has been a strange week without seeing you, but I have been teaching in Reception which is great because I know them all well now and they know me so it will be an easier transition for them in September.
I hope you have made the most of your time at home. I have been looking at your learning and it seems that you have worked hard.
Next Week
We have so many exciting things planned for next week, but still have lots of learning to do.
For maths we will be working with number, counting in tens, fives and twos. You will continue your poetry project for English and I have some fun ideas for writing poems.
We will be travelling to Africa to learn about their climate and culture.
We will be thinking about what God is like in our RE lesson.
For science you will continue with the project about animals as we sort them into different categories.
Sports Day
As you all know Monday will be Year One's turn for Sports Day! Make sure you have a full PE kit and trainers in school. Remember your water bottles too.
The Apprentice
Next Thursday,
8th July, Year 6 will be carrying out a treats and drinks sale. This
is usually done as a whole school event in the hall but due to Covid, this year
it will be classroom delivery only.
The items for
sale all range between 50p - £1.50 each and the Year 6 children will be
competing against each other to raise the most money. All profits made from the
event will go to the charity chosen by the winning team. Cash payments will be
taken on the day by the Year 6 children who will ensure they follow Covid
secure guidelines.
The children
in the class watched adverts made by the Year 6 children today, so they will
probably have a good idea about what they would like to buy. Please support
this event next week to raise much needed money for a very worthwhile cause.
