Good Evening Everyone,
In English the children have worked extremely hard,
describing what they enjoyed about our new class story ‘How To Wash A Woolly
Mammoth.’ They also wrote their own instructions and worked in pairs to listen
and follow instructions carefully. This week was ‘Children’s Mental Health Week’
and the children’s learning focused on the core strengths of ‘Resilience,
Self-Esteem and Growth Mind-Set’.
Next Week:
Maths- Understanding the
numbers 11-20 and finding 1 more and 1 less.
English- The children will
continue with their non-fiction topic which focuses on Instructions. They will
be using sequencing language to order events, and they will learn about
imperative verbs and consider the features of a good set of instructions.
Science- The children will
be grouping materials.
Geography- Exploring the
different places around the school.
Art- The children will be
making sculptures using air-dry clay.
Big Garden Birdwatch -
Unfortunately, we were unable to carry out this activity this week. I will be
keeping a close watch on the weather next week to ensure we can get out and
complete the birdwatch.
